Prouty 2018

On a weekend in July over 5,250 people gather in Hanover, NH. They’re gathering to bike, to row, to walk, to golf, to sponsor, to volunteer, and to support The Prouty, an annual two-day athletic event that benefits the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC). Now in its 38th year, The Prouty started off as a group of 4 nurses cycling 100 miles through the White Mountains in New Hampshire to raise money in memory of their patient Audrey Prouty. They raised $4,000 dollars that first year. In 2018 The Prouty raised over $2.7 million dollars for the NCCC thanks to the participation of over 4,000 athletes including a 39 member strong team from Bio X Cell.

The NCCC is a world-renowned cancer treatment and research facility with 14 location throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. They provide patients access to the latest cancer research and the most advanced technology in the field. We at Bio X Cell are proud to have products that play a part in that research and to support the NCCC and the work they are doing.

Bio X Cell’s team, The Prouty Animals, was made up of Bio X Cell staff and our extended family. Like The Prouty itself, our team was comprised of athletes of all different types. Some of us walked a 3k, others of us biked 50 miles, Klaus is rumored to have biked 100miles! All told we were spent a strong Saturday together working up a sweat and then gorging ourselves on barbecue together afterward.

We’re all looking forward to the Summer of 2019 when each and every one of us plans to sign up again. Be sure to follow us on social media for the Latest and Greatest from Bio X Cell.
